Cool City

We are living unsustainably and using resources faster than they can be replaced. Unfortunately we only have a few years left to change this situation. Recently, the UAE adapted an energy saving idea which is called cool cities. Cool cities are the example of an ideal city which is basically building a city that saves energy and decreases global warming amount. Cool cities offers different types of transportations such as light rail transit, hybrid cars and solar ships. In addition, these cool cities will contain business and public zone, residential zone, cultural and sports zone and Resort zone. The purpose of building these cities is to save energy and use alternative resources in cooling the city. Some of the ways in doing that is using wind turbines to provide electricity. In addition, the type of transportation in these cities as I have mentioned earlier will reduce the carbon emissions. Moreover, cool cities will have trees and water to prevent the heat in the city. In my opinion, creating cool cities will definitely help in building a safe future for other generations. It will prevent many environmental crisis such as global warming. In addition, these cities will cool the air and save energy at the same time and people will learn to live without using many resources.

Global warming - Al Gor - my comments

After watching the film I felt scared from what is going to happen in the short future, I was shocked about the facts which were presented in the film and impressed by Al Gore’s alarm and I felt that people have to take immediate action in addition to the perception of time. However I realized after reading the articles which are criticizing the movie that it is possible to save the situation. Moreover Al Gore did not went through scientific explanation in some of the facts he presented and did not give sufficient evidence such as the polar bears case and the hurricane in Katrina. I believe that the film is an environmental documentary which was made to influence people to take action but at the same time it was supported by media and other political propaganda, in addition it represents Al Gore’s vision about this issue and a lot of data were lost to improve his thesis. As I see it countries have to increase the awareness of people about such issue and people must start to take action starting from their houses then influence others.

Global warming is one of the issues people are concerned about these days, it means that the earth temperature is increasing, as a result there will be many changes in the climate that will cause many other huge problems such as floods which will affect human’s life. The film “An inconvenient truth” which represents Al Gore’s theory about global warming discuss many issues linked to the global warming and it illustrates the consequences in the near future. I believe that the truth which is exposed by Al Gore is inconvenient because it will cost businessmen and many other politician a lot especially in the economic field because they are living in struggle between spending money in projects which will bring benefits or in researches which may not help them . Therefore governments are afraid from the repercussions of changing some laws which is linked to the environment because people are not prepared to change any of their behaviors or interest because that will affect their culture. Moreover it means that people have to scarify to save the next generation because their activities is the cause of this problem and they can be the solution by changing some habits.

· Main Idea:

Paul Brown’s article talks about the affect of climate change in water in Iceland. It illustrates the problem of climate change that affects Iceland, introduce new and old species that are affected by the cold or warm water and the consequence of this problem.

· Summary:

In the begging of the article, the writer introduces different plants that were affected by the climate change such as the short grass and tiny ground-hugging plants. In addition, the writer compare between the condition of water in the past and recently. Moreover, he talks about the advantages of climate change in Iceland and about the unstable temperature. Also, the writer illustrates other advantage of melting water which is electricity. Icelanders depend on melting water to have electricity. However, other people think of melting water as a disadvantage because it affects their business. In conclusion, the writer auspicates his article with some different opinions of different people.


· Opinion:
In my opinion, due to global warming, the water that Icelanders depend on for electricity and water supply is rapidly retrograding and although this is a advantage to them because they benefit from melting water but in the future this water will exterminate and there will be no remaining water. I think that people should be more educated about global warming because it is a serious problem and if we did not repair the current situation, the next generations will suffer from our mistakes.

The earth, the only planet which has alive in the solar system. It was virtual paradise, but now there are pollution in the air and water even the temperature always going up, actually the earth system was breaking down. A lot of animal were fail and also forest. Why!!! What happened!!!!
In my opinion the greed is the most reason. The big country in the earth they are looking for the resources oil, coal and gas. A lot of wars last 100 years ago happened regarding this matter. And regarding to the wars a lot of people died and a lot o farms was damaged behind that a lot of plagues. And also the quick development last 100 years procurement in the carbon pollution...I think we have to do what we saying, always we ask for the peace and we have to get the energy from the clean recourse such as the wind and the sun
